Alex Culverwell

Alex is Senior Partner of Culverwell and founded the business in 1989. Prior to founding Culverwell, Alex was a director of Conroy Hunter and previously worked with Leavers and Richard Ellis. Starting his professional career in 1979, Alex has worked with a large number of retailers, property companies, institutions and REITs, notably recently with Landsec in Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow and Nuveen Real Estate in Edinburgh, along with numerous diverse instructions for Next. Alex has worked on many difficult and cerebrally challenging cases over a varied career which has involved breaking up and disposing of the assets of companies such as C&A and Littlewoods and more recently from 2006 to date on the redevelopment of the St James Centre and all the initial conception and planning work on the former Scottish Provident building on St Andrew Square.

Alex’s energy and passion for all aspects of the property business has been evident in the 35 years he has been involved, acting for many of the same clients and businesses over this period. Alex is a Fellow of the RICS and in his spare time, an erratic golfer and good weather sailor.
