Paesano owner opens new Sugo Pasta restaurant

Culverwell are delighted to have acted on behalf of The Paesano Group on their new concept Sugo Pasta which opened recently on Mitchell Street in the iconic Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed Herald Building, known as the Lighthouse building.

Following on from the incredible success of their two existing Paseano Pizza sites on Miller Street and Great Western Road, their new concept offers customers fresh pasta from all the regions of Italy - Tuscany, Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria and Umbria.  The pasta dishes are served as they are traditionally with the emphasis being on authenticity and quality.  Each pasta is paired with the sauce or ingredients as traditionally served in each region.

The restaurant extends to over 6,500 sq ft at ground floor and basement with around 250 covers along with a large bar area that can house around 40 people.

Speaking on the new restaurant, owner Paul Stevenson said  “We are absolutely delighted to have secured this fantastic site and recreate the Paesano model with fresh pasta.”

Andrew Britton commented “Paul and his team have done an amazing job and created a stunning restaurant within this iconic venue and I am sure Sugo will be a huge success.  We wish them every success.”
